Assist Metropolitan Planning Organizations and local governments
in addressing greenhouse gas emissions and vehicle miles traveled
reductions in local and regional plans.
Objectives:
- Provide
an overview of climate change and the latest information on national
and state transportation and land use efforts to address climate
change impacts by reducing travel congestion, delay and vehicle
miles traveled.
- Identify
regional and local efforts and planning processes targeted toward
reducing travel growth through coordinated transportation and land
use actions offering public health and environmental benefits.
- Discuss
challenges and opportunities in integrating climate change into
local and regional plans.
