FRIENDS UPDATE

New Faces . . . New Places

After 14 years of service, 1000 Friends Chairman and founder Nathaniel P. Reed is stepping [ Jack Wilson ] down from the South Florida Water Management District Board. While on the Board, Mr. Reed was a strong and dedicated advocate for protecting Florida’s fragile jewel-the Everglades.

1000 Friends of Florida extends a warm welcome to its newest board member, Nancy H. Roen. Currently she serves on the Board of the Florida Chapter of The Nature Conservancy, and on The Wilderness Society Governing Council. She received her BA and MA from the University of Denver, and her JD from the University of Miami.

Congratulations to 1000 Friends board member Jack Wilson on receiving the sixth Timer Powers Dispute Resolution Leadership Award from the Florida Conflict Resolution Consortium this January. He is president of The Wilson Company, a Tampa-based commercial development company.
